Traces of Sandalwood, the new film with Indian superstar Nandita Das (Fire, I Am) has it’s German premiere at “New Generations”.
The fiery women of the Gulabi Gang empower themselves and take up the fight against gender violence, caste oppression and widespread corruption. The short and experimental films present a new definition of contemporary film practices in India, presented in person by Madhuja Mukherjee/Kalkutta.
Monsoon Shootout is a breathtaking thriller with Nawazuddin Siddiqi (Lunchbox, Miss Lovely) playing the bad guy: A rookie cop’s moment of reckoning, to shoot or not to shoot!
Sulemani Keeda/Writers is the hilarious comedy about two slackers who want to break into screenwriting court Bollywood, playing in Andheri, Mumbai’s creative center.”
